The Hurricanes were absolutely gutted Saturday after drawing 12-12 with the Pensacola Aviators at Frank Brown Park.  The hard fought match saw PCB Rugby leading for the majority of the match and Pensacola drawing even in the final seconds.  The horror…  The social lifted spirits, kilts and a few shirts.

Thanks to Pensacola RFC for the memories,  The Buoy for outstanding support during the social and everyone who came out as supporters.  We hope to see you Saturday, February 11, 2012 when the Hurricanes take on Tallahassee RFC at Frank Brown Park.

Man of the match goes to David for an outstanding performance.

As for the dark side of match awards, this week was a special case.  We were forced to break out the trinity of the C*nt, the Taint and the Arsehole of the match.  Simon is indeed the C*nt for not kicking the ball into touch.  Drew won Taint for punching out our scrum half just prior to the call “Engage”.  Last but certainly not least is Brian who decided to be the Arsehole who gave half of Pensacola bad directions to The Buoy.

The Hurricanes hosted New Orleans RFC at Frank Brown Park and despite great weather and a hard fought first half, lost the match.  The kind folks at The Buoy hosted the social and refreshment goes a long way to restoring the soul after a loss.  Beer, songs, golf balls and boat races all conspired to ensure everyone had a great time.

Not everything went awry as Dan won man of the match for a spirited and scrappy performance at scrum half.  C*nt of the Match goes to John for eh…cheating.

We appreciate the great turnout of spectators and hope to see y’all this coming Saturday Feb 4, 2012 when the Hurricanes take on the Pensacola Aviators at 1PM @ Frank Brown Park.  If anyone out there is even considering playing rugby, come on out and join us for a run on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30PM @ Frank Brown Park.

Armed with a few new faces and only a few hangovers, the Hurricanes traveled to Okaloosa Saturday to kick of the Spring 2012 Matrix Season.  The boys made some early errors but rallied well to play more inspired rugby in the second half.  While there were some er…kinks that prevented PCB Rugby from getting the win, the moral victory was certainly ours.

Man of the Match went to Marcus for scoring the first try of the season and C*nt of the Match went to Dan for showing up still heavily refreshed from the night before and thus spilling his guts.
